It appears that head coach Dave Doeren is headed towards a contract extension at NC State. USA Today’s Dan Wolken first reported the news, and Wolfpack athletics director Debbie Yow confirmed it to several outlets, including the Raleigh News and Observer and WRAL.
Although details have not been leaked yet, the general expectation is that Doeren is likely to be extended beyond Yow’s likely retirement, which is expected to occur when her contract runs out in the summer of 2019.
Doeren is riding high after a 5-1 record at the midway point of the season and 3-0 conference mark that included wins over a pair of ranked Atlantic Divisional foes.
