The college basketball signing period began Wednesday afternoon. The Pack is believed to be focused on four prospects, but odds favor just two of them actually inking a national letter of intent over the next week.
NC State already has a verbal commitment from five-star point guard Dennis Smith Jr., of Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian. Smith, 6-3, 180 pounds, is listed the No. 4 player in the country’s senior class by Rivals.com. Despite his having torn an ACL over the summer, Smith is still considered one of the marquee signees this fall and an elite-level prospect.
The same status goes for Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, a 6-9, 230-pound forward playing at High Point (N.C.) Christian.
