N.C. State sophomore defensive back Malcolm Means is no longer listed on the Pack’s roster. He played sparingly in his career, and was exclusively used on special teams this season.
Nevertheless, Means’ departure opens up a scholarship for a defensive back. That might explain the recent offer to Bryce Banks, a 6-3, 185-pounder from Rock Bridge High in Columbia, Mo.
Banks verbally committed to Missouri last spring, but the pledge lasted just a couple of months before he backed out. Illinois, which like Missouri is undergoing a coaching change, has also been heavily recruiting Banks.
Banks tweeted this week that he would be taking an official visit to Raleigh for Saturday’s home game against Syracuse. The 247Sports composite rankings rates Banks the No. 20 prospect from the state of Missouri.
Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren is a native of the “Show-Me State”, growing up right outside of Kansas City.
