Junior M.J. Salahuddin, projected to be NC State’s starting middle linebacker this season, suffered a knee injury at practice last week.
Head coach Dave Doeren confirmed the news early this week, implying that the knee injury is serious and may cost him the entire year.
“That will keep him out for a while,” Doeren said. “Whether he’s out for the season, we’ll see.”
Salahuddin still has a redshirt year available. Redshirt freshman Jerod Fernandez will replace him at middle linebacker.
