Pack hires new assistant coach

NC State head coach Mark Gottfried hired former Oklahoma State and LSU assistant coach Butch Pierre to replace Rob Moxley, the school announced. Mosley will still be a part of the program but was reassigned to an administrative role for health reasons.

Pierre has a reputation as a strong recruiter, and he worked for one season under Bobby Lutz at Charlotte before heading to LSU. Lutz is now an assistant for Gottfried at N.C. State. Jeff Goodman of ESPN labeled Pierre as one of the “five most feared” recruiters in college basketball.
