The N.C. State basketball dream class scenario of the tandem of five-stars Dennis Smith, point guard at Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian, and Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, forward at High Point (N.C.) Christian, fell apart Tuesday morning, shortly after 9:30 a.m.
That’s when Adebayo told ESPN Radio personalities Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic on the “Mike and Mike Show” that he would be attending Kentucky and not N.C. State. The Wolfpack had long been viewed as Adebayo’s favorite, but as word trickled out Monday evening of Adebayo’s looming announcement, the sentiment changed dramatically in UK’s favor.
N.C. State does not have the luxury of moaning over losing Adebayo to the Wildcats, nor does spending time examining the recruitment in hindsight provide any value.
Ideally, the Wolfpack would find one more post player to join Smith in the 2016 class, which could be the missing piece on what would be an intriguing roster (assuming no early departures)…
