After four scintillating seasons in a Wake Forest uniform, star defensive end Boogie Basham has concluded his college career. On Friday, Basham declared for the 2021 NFL Draft; the news came shortly after the cancellation of Saturday’s Wake Forest-Florida State matchup, which would’ve been Basham’s final home game.
Basham will opt out of a potential bowl game for Wake Forest (4-4).
During his career with the Demon Deacons, Basham appeared in 45 games. The 6-foot-5 rush end from Roanoke (Va.) tallied 173 total tackles (36.5 tackles for loss) and 20.5 sacks, fourth most in program history.
Basham finished the 2019 season with 11 sacks, second most in the ACC.
