Did Wake Forest’s path back to the NCAA Tournament just become cloudier?

When we first looked at the Deacons’ non-conference basketball schedule, we noted the risk in choosing to play few quality opponents and few road games.

With a recent announcement, the NCAA just upped that risk significantly for Danny Manning and his squad. The definition of a quality win — used in both NCAA Tournament selection and seeding — will put greater emphasis on results on the road against quality teams.
