Wake Forest football is now 8-0 and ranked inside the top 10 nationally in the AP Poll. Both achievements are firsts in program history.
The Demon Deacons demolished Duke in Winston-Salem on Saturday: 45-7. Quarterback Sam Hartman led the way with 402 passing yards and five total touchdowns. Wake Forest has scored 35+ points in every game so far this season.
Interestingly, the 2006 Wake Forest team, which won the ACC and played in the Orange Bowl, never climbed above No. 14 in the AP Poll that year.

Wake Forest is the only ACC team in the AP Top 25 poll. However, Pittsburgh and NC State were the top two teams receiving votes that didn’t land in the poll.
