NC State athletics temporarily suspends activities

According to a release from the university, NC State athletics has temporarily suspended activities due to an identified cluster of positive COVID-19 cases in its programs.

NC State Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan on the matter:

Based on the information available to us, we are making the necessary and swift decision to pause athletic-related activities until we have additional information. We will continue to work with all appropriate parties to evaluate the most responsible path moving forward and will provide further details when available.

Last week, UNC was forced to make a similar decision; on Wednesday (Aug. 19), the Tar Heels suspended activities for fall sports. Football returned to the practice field on Monday (Aug. 24). Other fall sports started back up on Sunday.
