Wake Forest strikes gold, lands top-25 prospect Jaylen Hoard

Almost immediately upon arriving at Wake Forest in 2014, Danny Manning fixated on a player at High Point (N.C.) Wesleyan who Manning believed could jump-start his rebuilding efforts.

That player, Harry Giles, took Manning and the Deacons right to the end of his recruitment before choosing Duke instead.

Well, it took him almost two more years, but now Manning finally has landed a transformational player from Wesleyan: Jaylen Hoard, the No. 22 player in the class of 2018, according to 247 Sports’ consensus rankings.
