Just when it appeared that all of Wake Forest’s quarterback targets in the class of 2017 were falling off the board, coach Dave Clawson and his staff landed one who was near the top: Taylor Powell of Fayetteville, Ark.
Powell (6-1, 202 lbs) is a consensus 3-star recruit and pledged to the Demon Deacons on Saturday. He had offers from Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Purdue, San Diego State, Vanderbilt and Washington State, among others.
