UVa lands highly touted QB

Quarterback play has been an issue for UVa for the better part of the last 10 years. Bronco Mendenhall’s staff is looking to change that.

The Cavaliers made a splash on the recruiting trail on Monday by picking up a commitment from 2017 signal-caller Lindell Stone. The 6-2, 205-pound standout from Woodberry Forest, Virginia, announced his decision on social media.

Stone has long been a target of Virginia, collecting an offer from Mike London’s staff two summers ago. Along the way, he also picked up offers from Ole Miss, Pitt, UCLA, Wake Forest, Wisconsin and others.

The in-state prospect is rated the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is one of four rising seniors committed to UVa.
