6. Charlie Ward, Florida State
In the eyes of some it’ll be a crime to not have Ward as the No. 1 ACC quarterback of the last 30 years, let alone just outside the Top 5. This, however, is where it gets tough comparing eras. It’s difficult to contextualize how college offenses function now when compared to the early 1990s. Heck, it’s though to compare to stuff from less than 10 years ago.
Regardless, Ward is still a historically significant player in the annals of college football history. Ward became Florida State’s first Heisman Trophy winner in the 1993 season — when he completed 69.5 percent of his passes for 3,032 yards with 27 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
