NC State loses depth in secondary; DB Malik Dunlap enters transfer portal

NC State is 7-3 on the season, but the Wolfpack received a bit of a blow to their secondary depth. Defensive back Malik Dunlap announced on Twitter that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

The announcement came one day after the redshirt sophomore was removed from NC State’s depth chart.

Dunlap played in nine of NC State’s 10 games this season; he made five starts, too. During his time on the field, Dunlap recorded 20 tackles and six pass breakups.

A native of Charlotte, Dunlap joined NC State as a part of the 2018 recruiting class. He committed to NC State over Wake Forest, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.

NC State will finish its 2020 regular season schedule against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
