NC State landed its first basketball commitment in the 2017 class when guard Thomas Allen, a native of nearby Garner, N.C., picked the Wolfpack after his official visit this weekend.
Allen (6-1, 165 lbs) had also taken official visits to Nebraska and St. Louis, and he previously listed Virginia Tech and Ohio State as finalists. He averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game for Garner last year but has transferred to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., for his senior season.
Why could Allen’s commitment help the Wolfpack land other highly rated players down the line? To find out for free, sign up for basic access to ACCSports.com.
