Mendenhall’s staff taking different approach to recruiting at UVA

There are 41 bowl games that will be played this month and into January, including the national championship game. One of the teams that won’t be playing in a bowl is the University of Virginia.

In fact, UVA has not been to a bowl game since facing Auburn in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve in 2011. The Cavaliers’ last postseason victory came in 2005 — a 34-31 win over Minnesota in the Music City Bowl.

As Bronco Mendenhall looks to get the Cavaliers back to a bowl game heading into his second year at the helm, he’s taken a bit of a different approach to recruiting than his predecessor, Mike London.
