Doeren: NC State is ‘QB U’

When NC State football coach Dave Doeren is on the recruiting trail, you better believe the Wolfpack’s recent history of producing NFL players is a topic of conversation.

The subject also came up Thursday when Doeren visited The David Glenn Show.

“We have a great reputation at NC State. It obviously started before me, and then continuing it with Jacoby (Brissett), and hopefully we can keep doing what we’re doing,” Doeren said. “Ryan Finley leads the nation in completion rate right now, and Jalan McClendon is playing well.

“We call it ‘QB U’ right now. A lot of people are catching on to that, and we’ll continue to use it. There’s only two schools in the nation that have four quarterbacks in the NFL, and we’re one of them.”

Brissett (New England), Philip Rivers (San Diego), Russell Wilson (Seattle) and Mike Glennon (Tampa Bay) make up the list of Pack quarterbacks in the NFL.

Throughout the interview, Doeren also discussed how NC State approached its bye week, the team’s upcoming matchup against Wake Forest and the emergence of Stephen Louis at receiver. Click below to hear the full interview:
