Wake Forest finds its QB in the 2017 class

Wake Forest added a quarterback as the sixth commitment in its 2017 class when Tayvon Bowers revealed his decision on Wednesday.

Bowers (6-1, 215 lbs) is the No. 27 dual-threat quarterback in 247Sports’ rankings. He’s from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and played at Bishop McDevitt High School, where he completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 3,560 yards and 42 touchdowns to receivers who committed to Virginia, Bowling Green and Boston College. He ran 93 times for 395 yards and three touchdowns.

Bowers originally wanted to go to Rutgers, but when the Scarlet Knights took Johnathan Lewis, Bowers started to look elsewhere. In addition to Wake Forest, he also had offers from Akron, Buffalo, Dartmouth, Kent State and others.
