Dave Clawson has learned a lot of lessons while coaching a small football program at the NCAA’s highest level.
So far, the most important might be that you can’t have too many quarterbacks.
In Clawson’s first three seasons, Wake Forest hasn’t just struggled to keep their starter healthy; they’ve struggled to keep any quarterback healthy. Much of that comes from the struggles of the offensive line (three straight years of 40-plus sacks), the lack of size at quarterback and the desire to feature the QB in the running game.
So Clawson made no bones about his spring plans, noting he’ll need multiple passers healthy.
