In this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, Wake Forest moved to No. 10. At 9-1, this is the highest ranking for any ACC team; Pitt and NC State land at No. 18 and No. 20, respectively.
Here are the nine teams ahead of Wake Forest in the CFP:
- Georgia, 10-0
- Alabama, 9-1
- Oregon, 9-1
- Ohio State, 9-1
- Cincinnati, 10-0
- Michigan, 9-1
- Michigan State, 9-1
- Notre Dame, 9-1
- Oklahoma State, 9-1
Wake Forest has two games left in the regular season: at Clemson this Saturday, then home vs. Boston College to closeout the regular season. Barring a disaster, Wake Forest should make it to the ACC Championship game, for a likely matchup with Kenny Pickett and Pittsburgh.
Now, assuming Wake Forest wins its next three games, including the ACC title game, should the 12-1 Demon Deacons make the CFP?
