Last week, NC State gained a verbal commitment from Southeast Raleigh High safety Tyler Baker-Williams, giving NCSU three Wake County products already in the 2018 class. Baker-Williams joins running backs Trent Pennix from Sanderson High in Raleigh and Ricky Person from Heritage High in Wake Forest.
While Baker-Williams is a sleeper who earned an offer through a strong performance at NC State’s summer camp, Pennix had multiple Power Five Conference offers and picked NCSU over Virginia Tech, and Person is a four-star prospect considered one of the state’s elite players in the 2018 class.
