Sunday, when coveted class of 2018 center David McCormack announced his commitment to Kansas, it marked yet another highly-rated recruit who had once considered Virginia choosing a program other than the Cavaliers.
But this one, despite being expected for a few weeks now, caused a different kind of alarm for Virginia fans; McCormack is an in-state product who has liked UVA for quite a while. He also spent plenty of time in Charlottesville, too.
But, in truth, a McCormack-Virginia marriage was one that never quite worked.
