Clemson remains No. 1 following blowout win vs. Miami; UNC No. 5 in AP Poll

Once again, Clemson looked dominant against an ACC quasi-challenger. Following a 42-17 rout over Miami, it’s obvious: the gap between the Tigers and the rest of the ACC remains wide.

Clemson continues its stay atop the AP Top 25 Poll; beyond the Tigers, two other teams — Notre Dame and North Carolina — land inside the top five.

      • No. 1 Clemson
      • No. 4 Notre Dame
      • No. 5 North Carolina
      • No. 13 Miami
      • No. 23 Virginia Tech

This marks the first time since 1997 that North Carolina has entered the top five of the AP Poll. Of note: Mack Brown was in his first stint at UNC in 1997.

Just outside of the poll, three other ACC teams received votes: NC State, Boston College and Virginia. The Wolfpack (3-1) are on the verge of returning to the AP Top 25.
