Virginia basketball’s new top targets

Virginia will have to build its 2018 recruiting class around somebody else now that the five-star point guard out of New Jersey has chosen Arizona, spurning the Cavaliers, Kansas, Villanova, UCLA and others.  That leaves UVA looking to Plan B, though in all likelihood the Cavs were prepared for Tuesday’s news.

That’s not to say there isn’t a lot of disappointment in Hooville today. Quinerly, a Top 15 talent, represented the next step for Virginia faithful, a top-level recruit that in the past considered programs like Duke and North Carolina while the likes of UVA searched for diamonds in the rough.

But the Cavaliers have remained in pursuit of several outstanding guards and still have potential to put together one of the nation’s best classes.
