N.C. State formally announced Sunday that they have an opening on their basketball coaching staff for the first time since Mark Gottfried was hired in May of 2011.
Rob Moxley will be repositioned as the Director of Player Personnel. The move is likely a product of health rather than performance-based reasons. Moxley was a tireless and respected recruiter who has interviewed for head coaching jobs at smaller schools in the past.
However, last summer he suffered a major health scare. Moxley, a diabetic, went into cardiac arrest and had multiple strokes afterward. He went on an extended medical leave while recuperating but returned in time for the start of this season.
Bobby Lutz and ace recruiter Orlando Early remain on Gottfried’s staff. Who are some of the candidates that Gottfried could look to replace Moxley?
