Gottfried’s confidence results in potent roster

The NC State Wolfpack enter the season with a deep, talented roster that will look to make it back to the NCAA Tournament after a one-year hiatus — the first of Mark Gottfried’s tenure in Raleigh. On Wednesday at ACC Operation Basketball in Charlotte, Gottfried joined The David Glenn Show to discuss a variety of topics: Dennis Smith Jr., chemistry on a team that has a combination of young and older players, Omer Yurtseven and the strength of the ACC as a basketball league.

Gottfried also talked about NC State’s roster being in a transition phase during the offseason: “I didn’t think the sky was falling.”

“There were probably a few uneasy nights, but I think in the long haul, I felt confident that some things we’re going to change. And whether that was our roster — we’ve added two new coaches, I’m excited about there. And then kinda piecing it together, day by day, to now where we sit with a pretty good roster.”
