One of the primary topics on the minds of many at ACC Operation Basketball on Wednesday revolved around the eligibility of two potentially key NC State freshmen: Omer Yurtseven and Ted Kapita.
While speaking with the assembled media in Charlotte, Gottfried spoke briefly about the situation: “Not an official update, but I have been told that we are anticipating something here within the next week, probably. Maybe sooner. So I don’t think that’s set in concrete, and I’ve learned through this process that nothing surprises me. But I’m hoping, end of the week, end of next week, maybe we hear something.”
Gottfried remained hopeful that the Wolfpack will receive some good news before the season officially starts. He also admitted that the team has adjusted their practice schedule to deal with uncertainty over the statuses of the two players. Click below to listen to his entire answer.
