Every ACC basketball newcomer for 2017-18

With the fall term having begun at universities and colleges, the basketball recruiting results have now been finalized for the high school class of 2017. For ACC basketball, the clear-cut overall recruiting winner, once again, is Duke, whose seven signees included four of the nation’s top 15 senior (now graduated) prospects in 6-11 CA/AZ BF/C Marvin Bagley III (one of the top two seniors), 6-3 FL/DE/TX PG Trevon Duval, 6-10 GA C/BF Wendell Carter, and 6-5 CA/MN WG/WF Gary Trent Jr.

In fact, this Blue Devil crop also ranks number one nationally, with a narrow lead over Kentucky, and Mike Krzyzewski’s program additionally has already gotten early verbal commitments from two of the top ten current prep seniors (class of 2018) in 6-8 PA WF Cameron Reddish and 6-4 MN PG Tre’ Jones. After Duke, there appears to be some recruiting parity within the ACC, especially in the top half of the league, where North Carolina, Louisville, Miami-FL, Florida State, Syracuse, Virginia, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and perhaps others possess NCAA Tournament-caliber talent.
