Scheduling contributes to Virginia’s gridiron woes

Unless Virginia wins five or more ACC games this season, the Cavaliers’ bowl drought will extend to five years.

That’s not a prediction, but instead a reality after UVA finished 1-3 in nonconference play. In fact, out-of-conference woes have become a trend for the Wahoos in recent seasons.

The last time Virginia posted a winning record versus opponents outside the ACC was in 2011. That also happened to be the last year the program reached a bowl game.
