Wolfpack commitment considering other options

NC State’s top priority in the 2017 football recruiting class has long been defensive end. The Wolfpack has a pair of commits thus far at the position, both from Florida.

One of them, Xavier Lyas from Durant High in Plant City, plans to enroll early at NCSU. The other. though, could be making NC State’s coaches sweat a bit.

Deslin Alexandre from Deerfield Beach High confirmed to 247Sports that he intends to take an official visit to Pittsburgh. Alexandre had earlier hinted to Scout.com that the Panthers would get a trip.

However, NC State is still firmly in the mix and is expected to host Alexandre on an official visit this fall as well, perhaps for the Miami game, according to TheWolfpacker.com. NC State will use that trip to try to shore up his commitment. He has already visited NCSU once, stopping by the school in June.

Alexandre has missed much of his senior season due to a high ankle sprain. He picked NCSU in the summer over offers from Pitt, Rutgers and Syracuse, among others.
