Fresh off landing the NC State job, Wolfpack basketball coach Kevin Keatts joined The David Glenn Show on Tuesday. During the conversation, Keatts discussed why his new position was the right fit, his time with Rick Pitino at Louisville and his approach to competing with North Carolina and Duke.
In addition, Keatts revealed his first targets for next season’s team.
“A lot of people talk about recruitment and how important it is, and certainly it is,” Keatts said. “But I think the most important recruits are the ones that you already have on campus.”
One of the first tasks for the new coach will be keeping the current roster together. Freshman center Omer Yurtseven plans to declare for the NBA Draft but has not yet hired an agent. Junior forward Abdul-Malik Abu remains undecided on his future. Others are transfer possibilities.
