Although head coach Dave Doeren has yet to notch a marquee win or a breakthrough season, he appears to have momentum this offseason after ending the 2016 campaign, an ultimate season of what-ifs, with back-to-back wins over UNC in Chapel Hill and Vanderbilt in the Independence Bowl.
That momentum seems to be carrying over onto the recruiting trail, where NCSU has secured the commitment of a four-star quarterback in Devin Leary from Timber Creek High in Sicklerville, N.J., and four-star athlete/running back Ricky Person from Heritage High in Wake Forest, N.C.
