The storm brewing beneath the surface exploded into the public domain Monday evening when Mark Armstrong of ABC11 reported that NC State had “definitively decided over the weekend to fire Mark Gottfried at the conclusion of the season.”
Armstrong’s report, according to various sources, may be premature but also could very well be proven prophetic when all said and done. It has become clear that Gottfried’s job is in jeopardy following a week in which his team lost by 24 points at Florida State and 30 points at Wake Forest.
