NC State’s wide receivers were a question mark before the season started. Their production, or lack of it, was documented well this week by the Raleigh News & Observer’s NC State beat writer Joe Giglio, who noted that the Pack’s wideouts caught 38.6 percent of completions last year.
Outside of the Wolfpack, only Virginia — at 46.4 percent — saw its receivers catch less than half the team’s completed passes.
Thus, when a questionable corps loses three receivers for the year to injury before the season starts, it’s not a promising development.
