Deacons discovering answers at key positions

Wake Forest’s victory over Duke was a salve for a lot of bruises generated by the opening-week squeaker against Tulane. Perhaps no more powerful statement was made than by two young players looking to lock up their spots in the offensive backfield.

Sophomore Kendall Hinton may have finally taken control of the quarterback position after battling John Wolford for more than a year. True freshman Cade Carney could have nailed down the lead-back role from a crowded field of running backs.

While Hinton and Carney both played well against the Blue Devils, their ascension also prompts some questions.
