For the last two seasons, the tournament has taken place up in Brooklyn — with Duke and then Virginia cutting down nets. The year prior, in 2016, North Carolina won the ACC Tournament in Washington D.C. It’s been scheduled for a while now: the tournament would be in Charlotte in 2019 and Greensboro in 2020. However, the future dates with Washington D.C. and Brooklyn are new.
Going back through the years: the ACC Tournament has been held in eight different cities and 12 different venues.
According to ACC Commissioner John Swofford, the league is excited about the four future cities of the tournament:
“The next four years of the ACC Tournament will be played in locations that are tremendously meaningful to the ACC, our players, coaches, alumni and fans. All four cities offer first class venues and hospitality for our league, and we appreciate the continued partnership with each of these outstanding communities.”
