ACC announces 20-game matrix for future basketball seasons

In case you missed it, the ACC has announced future schedule for its basketball teams. Starting in the 2019-20 season, the league will game to a 20-game schedule. Starting with that year, and going through the 2021-22 sea

son, here’s a look at how each team will matchup with.

Saturday

Clemson at No. 16 Louisville, 12 p.m. (ESPN)

No. 8 North Carolina at Wake Forest, 12 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

No. 17 Florida State at Georgia Tech, 2 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

Notre Dame at No. 4 Virginia, 2 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

No. 22 Virginia Tech at Pittsburgh, 4:30 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

NC State at No. 2 Duke, 6 p.m. (ESPN)

 

Sunday

Eric Lockett Update

NC State plays at Duke tomorrow, but will certainly not have the services of Eric Lockett, who has been charged with misdemeanor assault on a female. Lockett has been suspended indefinitely from the basketball team. He turned himself in to police on Thursday, and has subsequently been released.

 

Syracuse adds Coastal Carolina DE Jeffrey Gunter

On Thursday, Syracuse football added a boost to its future pass rush: Coastal Carolina transfer defensive end Jeffrey Gunter. A native of Durham, N.C., Gunter played the last two seasons in Conway while emerging as one of the top pass rushers in the Group of Five. While playing in 12 games in 2018, Gunter recorded five sacks and 14 tackles for loss.

In total, he played in 24 games at Coastal Carolina — making 13 career starts. He will sit out the 2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
