Larry Fedora’s 2016 recruiting class grew to 22 members on Thursday when junior college linebacker J.B. Copeland committed to UNC. Copeland announced the news via social media.
“I have decided to Commit to the University of North Carolina and plan to sign at the end of December,” Copeland said on his personal Twitter account.
Coming out of high school two years ago, the Southlake, Texas, product was rated the No. 164 outside linebacker in the 2014 class on the 247Sports Composite. He originally enrolled at New Mexico State before transferring to Navarro College.
Copeland will have two years of eligibility left. With his commitment, the Tar Heels have four linebackers pledged to their 2016 group.
