Four ACC players are projected to go in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft, according to a mock draft by DraftExpress.com that was updated on Tuesday.
Duke forward Brandon Ingram leads the way for the conference as the No. 2 overall player in the mock draft. Demetrius Jackson of Notre Dame is the league’s only other projected lottery pick at No. 11, while Blue Devil guard Grayson Allen and UNC power forward Brice Johnson are listed at No. 29 and No. 30, respectively.
Should Ingram go first, second or third, it would mark the third draft in a row that Mike Krzyzewski’s program produced a top-three overall pick and the sixth straight year a Duke player was taken in the first round.
Several more ACC players, and current signees, are projected by DraftExpress as first-rounders in a 2017 mock draft. Blue Devil recruits Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles are listed as Nos. 1 and 2, NC State point guard Dennis Smith sits at No. 6, and Florida State signee Jonathan Isaac is predicted to be selected at No. 13.
Outside of the lottery slots in the 2017 mock draft, the Seminoles have a couple more players included with Malik Beasley at No. 17 and Dwayne Bacon at No. 30. Syracuse forward Tyler Lydon holds the No. 20 spot, while Justin Jackson of UNC projects as the No. 27 pick.
