Several ACC schools in the hunt for nation’s top uncommitted prospects

Two more ACC basketball programs reeled in commitments from 2017 prospects over the first weekend of October. Thomas Allen, a 6-2 combo guard who’s a native of Garner, N.C., and is now attending Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy, cast his lot with NC State during an official visit, while 6-5 Orlando (Fla.) The First Academy shooting guard Chaundee Brown verbally committed to Wake Forest.

Both are talented, scoring-oriented players, and we currently rank Brown among the top 45 seniors nationally. Allen is among the top 70. The latter averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game last season for 29-3 Garner High School and played a key role the previous year (as a sophomore) as Garner won the North Carolina 4A state championship. Brown impressed us a great deal with his stellar performances at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in mid-July.

Most ACC programs are on the board with commitments in the 2017 class, but there will be a lot more movement between now and the end of next spring. Listed in alphabetical order, here are the top 35 uncommitted players receiving ACC interest:
