Many of our readers saw the recent announcement of the 24-man McDonald’s High School All-American Team. We’ve been on McDonald’s 34-person Selection Committee since 1995, but this year, unfortunately, a computer malfunction prevented us from casting our final ballot prior to the deadline. Whether it could have made a difference, we really don’t know, but we feel strongly that this year’s prestigious McDonald’s group is among the weakest we’ve seen in the last 21 years.
In fact, we consider nine of the 24 selectees to be 25-50 national caliber prospects rather than in the elite 1-24 category.
