High school class of 2016 rankings

With prep basketball tournaments rapidly approaching, it’s time to revise and update our national player rankings of current high school seniors (class of 2016). At this juncture, 23 of our top 75 seniors have committed to ACC schools; in other words, the ACC as a whole has fared quite well this year in recruiting, and the spring national signing period won’t even begin for another two months!

You will note that my rankings include individuals whose season has been limited by injury, and it also contains fifth-year preps, since they are recruits who are expected to be able to play next season as college freshmen. Players in both of those categories don’t qualify for McDonald All-American recognition, but we try to consider anyone who’ll be in his first year of college during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Below are our top 75 high school seniors, in rank order. Our next contribution, which we’ll submit this coming week, will list the next 50 seniors (numbers 76 through 125), once again in rank order. The colleges with the best recruiting classes thus far this year are Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State and UCLA. A total of 14 of  the top 75 have not yet made their college decisions…
