With the summer events for high school basketball players drawing to a close, it’s time for our annual ranking of the top 75 rising seniors (Class of 2017). It should be noted that this class, while not terrible, appears to be, at most, very average in overall talent and depth. We see no likely superstars — no LeBron James — though we currently place Michael Porter (who recently decided to join his father at Washington after considering Virginia among his five finalists), DeAndre Ayton and possibly Mohamed Bamba in the potential near-super category.
While no top-10-caliber rising senior has committed thus far to an ACC school, most of the premier 2017 prospects have not yet made a college decision, and one or more ACC member is involved with the majority of the best undecideds. Regardless, rest assured that at least some ACC schools will wind up signing one or more outstanding players.
