ACCSports.com Week Two Pick ‘Em

Week Two around the ACC brings another batch of non-conference home games for most league members — games that they’re widely expected to win. That makes for another easy week of choices in our weekly ACCSports.com Pick’ Em competition.

Only Virginia, who hosts Notre Dame in Charlottesville, has a game this week in which the ACC school is considered the underdog. Wake Forest and Syracuse open up league play with a showdown Saturday afternoon in the Carrier Dome.

But by and large, most schools around the league should pick up easy triumphs this weekend.

ACCSports.com welcomes two more guest pickers for this week’s Pick’ Em — Matt Carter of TheWolfpacker.com and Brian McLawhorn of DevilsIllustrated.com.

Carter and McLawhorn are longtime friends and colleagues of ACCSports.com editor Adam Powell with the Rivals.com network, and are two of the top ACC reporters in the state of North Carolina. Go to their websites, linked below, for team news and recruiting scoop on NC State and Duke.

Most of the selections among our five pickers are the same this week, though Brian McLawhorn is going with Syracuse to beat Atlantic Division rival Wake Forest at home — everyone else is taking the Demon Deacons – while Matt Carter and Adam Powell are going out on a limb and picking Akron to upset Pitt for the second straight year. Shawn Krest is making the boldest play of the weekend — picking North Carolina Central to shock Duke in the season opener in newly-renovated Wallace Wade Stadium.
