College Gameday began as an onsite show in 1993 with the eventual national champions from Florida State, and has evolved into a cultural phenomenon over the past couple decades

Across college football, attendance has been a major concern in recent years.

A perfect storm of economic uncertainty, higher ticket prices and other game-related fees, as well as the added convenience of watching games at home with large high-definition televisions, has resulted in a gradual decrease in spectators across the college landscape over the past decade.
