With the holiday tournaments over, now is the perfect time to begin our updated national midseason position rankings for the 2017 class, starting with the point guards. Our general assessment is that the 2017 point guards are very strong and impressive at the top but relatively thin in overall depth.
We’re especially high on Trae Young, Trevon Duval, Collin Sexton, Jalek Felton, Quade Green, Nick Weatherspoon, Isaiah Washington and Makai Ashton-Langford. Each is talented enough to lead a strong college team to an NCAA title.
Note that of the 25 point guards we have identified, five signed in November with ACC schools. The No. 1 prospect at this position, Trae Young, has not signed but is considering Duke along with Washington, Kentucky, UCLA and Oklahoma. Our No. 2 senior point guard, Trevon Duval, also is considering the Blue Devils.
