UNC, Syracuse records vs. other conferences in national title game

For the second season in a row, the ACC will send a participant to the NCAA championship game with hopes of keeping the national crown within the conference for at least another year. Right now, though, it’s unknown which league team will be playing in next Monday’s game.

The winner of Saturday night’s matchup between UNC and Syracuse will determine that, as either the Tar Heels or the Orange will be facing the victor of Oklahoma-Villanova. The two ACC programs have 12 national title appearances between them, with North Carolina most recently winning it all in 2009.

The ACC representative will be squaring off with either the Sooners of the Big 12 or the Wildcats of the Big East. How have North Carolina and Syracuse fared against those conferences in previous national championship showdowns?
