Aresco: ‘It’s important that we don’t pay players’

American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco dropped by The David Glenn Show on Tuesday to talk all things college sports, and toward the end of the interview, he was asked what his plan would be if the Ed O’Bannon trial did not go in the NCAA’s favor. In his answer, Aresco talked about some of the consequences that would come if the current model of college athletics was drastically changed.

“Why do you have college sports if it’s not competitive? Why would you want somebody to be able to stockpile 400 scholarships or spend all sorts of money?”
