The ACC Tournament was to experience a bit of a homecoming in 2020 — with the return to Greensboro. However, that event, played in the league’s hometown for the first time since 2015, was cut short and cancelled due to concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, the league announced that it plans to return the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament back to Greensboro as quickly as possible. The event will be back in Greensboro in 2023. First, it’s set to head north again: Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. (2021) and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn (2022). After that, though, the tournament will return to Greensboro.
